Inspired by the great initiative from Portsmouth Hospital (see below) we’ve continued to refine the lanyard design to make it as simple as possible for anyone – patients, agency staff to understand.
A simple increase in colour shade as level of experience increases combined with plain language.

We’re aware other hospitals and trusts use other colouring systems to denote level of experience.
Does your hospital use a colouring system like this for healthcare staff (nurse, ODP, doctor etc) – if so please do get in touch & send us some pictures – we’re very keen to hear more about it.
Perhaps it would be great to standardise this in the future. It may also be beneficial to use a colouring system which is more widely understood too. Perhaps we could lend from other areas – interested in your thoughts:
Some institutions advocate against the use of lanyards as an infection risk.
